She has served on the board of Food & Friends, an organization providing medically tailored meals to those with serious illnesses, and on the board of Bridle Paths, a non-profit focused on equine-assisted therapy. Outside work and community, Ruth finds joy in spending time with her husband, their dogs, and in entertaining. With a daughter attending Virginia Tech, she can now proudly answer the question, 'What's a Hokie?'.
